Pau airport official name is Pau Pyrenees Airport (PUF), situated 7km (4.3miles) northwest of Pau in the village of Uzein on the foot of the French side of the Pyrenees. Driving time to the centre of Pau from the airport is about 15 minutes.

Why get an airport transfer from Pau?

Pau airport is small small, friendly and modern regional airport. There are normally, only a small number of flights arriving or departing at a time making the arrivals/departures procedure very simple without a lot of queueing. The airport is serviced by only a few airlines, Air France, Ryan Air and CityLine Swiss but it is a great starting point for travelling to ski resorts in the French Pyrenees. It is really quick and easy to get to any of these resorts with a mini van or car.

Public Transport Options

There is bus service between Pau Airport and the centre of Pau and the train station. The bus line is 20 and the bus runs between Uzein Aeroport stop and Pau Gare SNCF stop. Busses run one per hour at 40 or 45 past and between 7 am - 7 pm.

Pau ski transfer travel advice

You can get to most ski resorts by bus, shuttle or taxi instead of a private Pau airport transfer. Selective trains are available to a small number of ski resorts. However for groups of 3 or more it is often best to arrange a ski transfer in advance with one of the Pau airport transfer operators. Booking a shared or private transfer will allow you to start you holiday without the stress of getting to the bus stations and paying expensive last minute taxi fares.
