Arzl is a very popular ski resort in Austria, close to the Swiss border. It is one of the most popular ski resorts in the country and offers some wonderful skiing. The town of Arzl has many hotels and guest houses, and is home to a number of noted restaurants and bars that cater for winter sports fans. There are some beautiful views to be had from all directions, and the après ski scene is quite lively. A relaxed and friendly place, Arzl is popular with families and groups, and is in a picturesque setting that will be greatly enjoyed by visitors.
The closest airport to Arzl is Innsbruck. It is only 58km away and it takes less than an hour to get there. Both Zurich an Munich has a transfer option too.
There are public transport options to Arzl but there will be several changes if you wish to get to Arzl. There is no direct rail link to the resort. The closest train station to all Pitztal villages is Imst, with connections to Innsbruck, Munich, Salzburg, Zurich and Friedrichshafen.
At Innsbruck city center you have to take a train to Imst, then bus to Arzl. The journey takes about an hour. Coming from Zurich airport you have to take train to Imst, then bus to Arzl. Traveling from Munich airport you have to change trains in Innsbruck. In Imst you change to the bus to Arzl. It takes about three an a half hours to get to the resort from both airports.
Without the availability of a direct rail link getting to and from Arzl by public transport is tiresome and takes time. We recommend airport transfers as the best way. From any airport you can book a transfer, and the time taken will depend on where you start. Benefits include a direct journey and therefore a shorter journey time. You also get a guaranteed ride in comfort and they are the most cost-effective method of travelling to and from Arzl.
