A small Austrian alpine ski resort is hidden in the territory of the National Park “Zirbitznogel Grebenzen”, famous for its beauty and thermal springs. Mariahof offers great adventures for snowshoe tracking. “Via Natura” contains 126 km of tracking paths that are awarded for their excellence and beauty. You can have a guided tour or follow the numerous options marked en route. Free of charge buses deliver Mariahof guests around the area. If you seek for peaceful, calm and full of relaxation time-out, then Mariahof has a lot to offer.
Mariahof receives skiers, snowboarders and tracking fans of all skills level every winter. The skiing season starts in December and lasts till the sunny days of April. All winter pleasures are possible to experience here, starting from skiing, snowboarding, tracking, sledging and tobogganing. Mariahof has 23 km of well-groomed pistes for skiing and snowboarding, which are served by 1 chair lift. All facilities are designed for handicapped people and people with limited abilities. There is a racetrack and a great number of well designed and routed tracking runs.
The nearest airports to Mariahof are in Klagenfurt (58 km), Salzburg (179 km), Graz Thalerhof (121 km) and Vienna (244 km).
For the quickest and most cost-effective way of getting from the airport to the resort we recommend you to book a transfer in advance. This is approximate timing you will spend in a car or minibus contemplating beautiful snowy sceneries through the windows.
If you are coming from the north, take a train going to Klagenfurt or a train going in the direction of Italy. If you are arriving from the south, take a train to Vienna direction or to Graz. If you travel by express trains, you will be delivered to the neighbouring area of Unzmarkt (14 km from Mariahof) or Friesacht (15 km from Mariahof), further continue your trip by taxi. Regional trains stop at Mariahof/St.Lambrecht Train Station.
From Munich go via A8 in the direction to Salzburg. From Salzburg continue via A10 till St.Michael in Lungau. Take B96 till Tamsweg and then via B95 till Predlitz. B97 goes through Stadl/Mur through Murau. At the roundabout go to St.Lambrecht direction. Soon you will arrive at National Park of Mariahof.
Travelling from Austria: At the crossing in St. Michael at Leoben go via S36 in the direction of Klagenfurt. Further through Knittelfeld and Judenburg till Scheifling, through Perchau and soon you will arrive at the final point of your destination.
Travelling from the south or Italy: Via B83 through St. Veit/Glan, Treibach and Friesach. At Friesach go in the direction of Vienna, through Durnstein, Wildbad till Neumarkt.
