The Val Gardena region unites three ski resorts: Selva Gardena (1563 m), S. Kristina (1428 m) and Ortisei (St Ulrich) (1236 m). Ortisei is the biggest village of Val Gardena. It counts up to 5750 inhabitants. A holiday in Ortisei is like a journey through history. The museum of woodencarving and Ladin culture is located in Ortisei. It is not least a fascinating destination for art lovers. This idyllic part of Val Gardena also has an abundance of leisure offers. Both skiing and apres ski experience will bring you plenty of joy and fun.
Ortisei is a great starting point to the most beautiful slopes all around the Dolomiti Superski and Sella Ronda thanks to modern lifts and best bus connections. Ortisei is perfect both for skiing and strolling.
The nearest airport is Geneva (157 km).
When booking transfer make sure you know estimated time en route. In winter season it is rather difficult to forecast weather conditions, traffic tention and other circumstances that may increase the time of transfer. This timing is approximate and calculated for regular driving conditions.
Every Saturday there is a scheduled bus leaving Munich bus station to Ortisei. Ortisei bus company “Silbernagl” delivers this service. Regular buses to Ortisei leave Bolzano, Bressone and Chuisa train stations every hour.
The nearest train stations to Val Gardena are in Bolzano, Bressone and Chuisa. From the train station scheduled buses will bring you to your ski resort.
Ortisei can be best reached by car through the Brenner Motorway (A22).
From the north: Follow the route Innsbruck - Brennero - Chiusa.
From the south: Follow the route Verona - Trento - Bolzano.
