Achenkirch is a municipality in the Schwaz district in the Austrian state of Tyrol. The ski resort is located at the northern end of Lake Achensee situated between 950 and 1800 meters altitude and is one of the most snow-assured winter sports areas in Austria. Achenkirch consists of several scattered villages in Achen Valley and extends from the northern tip of Lake Achen to pass on the Bavarian border. The resort has introduced State-of-the-art snow-making facilities which guarantee snow from December until April. The ski area has also a free car parking area right next the lift. There are public transport options to get to Achenkirch and the most convenient one is the bus shuttle that operates between Innsbruck airport to Achenkirch. If you wich to take a public transportation you will have to change multiple times. There are also options available from Munich airport taking the train and then changing to bus.
