Alba is a small resort located at one end of the Fassa Valley, with it's own ski area. Skiers and snowboarders are welcomed here. It is great for begginers but have some nice pistes for intermediate and expert skiers as well. This nice little resort has direct access to 10km of downhill skiing, with 7 individual pistes, served by 5 ski lifts. Those who would like to enjoy the sun can relax on one of the sun terraces which offer a great panoramic view on the surrounding mountains.
There are few airports within two hours drive, so in a good day short ski holidays are possible at any time. The closest airports are Innsbruck, Treviso and Venice. Other airports like Brescia and Verona are options too but they are a bit further and may take a longer journey time.
There is no direct railway access to Alba so several changes will be necessary. From Innsbruck you can take bus or train that takes you to Bolzano and then change to the bus that takes you to Alba. The journey may take you up to five hours. From Treviso you will have to change buses as well and it takes about five and a half hours to get to the resort. Going to Alba by public transport from any other airport will take a really long time.
Without the availability of a direct rail link getting to and from Alba by public transport is tiresome and takes time. We recommend airport transfers as the best way. From any airport you can book a transfer, and the time taken will depend on where you start. Benefits include a direct journey and therefore a shorter journey time. You also get a guaranteed ride in comfort and they are the most cost-effective method of travelling to and from Alba.
