    Some Facts about Arolla

    Arolla is one of the most popular ski resorts in this part of Switzerland. The town itself is a lively place with plenty to please those looking for aprés-ski entertainment. Slopes are available for all levels of experience, and the black and off-piste runs are particularly challenging. With a choice of hotels and guest houses, and many restaurants and bars, Arolla is a very popular resort. It is quite an exclusive resort, and not as busy as some in the region. However, it presents a family friendly and inviting atmosphere that is enjoyed by many visitors.

    From which airport can I reach Arolla?

    The nearest airport to Arolla is Sion which is just an hour's drive going to the resort, given a clear driving route and a good weather. The resort can also be reached using a number of alternative airports including Geneva and Berne, which are a little further distant. Pian, Aosta and Bex airports also offer transfers to Arolla. 

    Is there public transport to Arolla?

    The lack of a direct rail links means many changes will be necessary if travelling by public transport. Airport transfers or car hire make a much more viable method of travel. There are public transport links, and if you wish to use them, the following are some of the more viable options. Although Sion is very close there will be some bus changes needed. The journey can take up to 2 hours. There is a direct train to Sion from Geneva but if you are coming from Berne one train change will be necessary. It takes four and a half hours to get to the resort from both airports.

    Advice on transportation to Arolla

    Arolla is not served by a direct rail link. This means that you will need to make several changes if travelling by rail. This can lead to lengthy journey times. By far the best way to get to and from the resort is to book an airport transfer. The convenience of regular shuttles, and direct journeys, means shorter journey times. You also get the most cost-effective method of travel, and a guaranteed trip. The comfort and peace of mind in booking airport transfers is also welcome.
