Auron forms part of the Stations du Mercantour group of ski resorts, along with the famous Isola 2000 resort and others. The slopes range from novice to expert, and there are many off-piste opportunities. The town itself offers a wide choice of accommodation in the form of hotels and guest houses. There are many excellent restaurants and bars. Auron is one of the most popular ski resorts in Europe and offers a choice of other sports. The region is home to many other exciting resorts and is popular with families and groups alike.
The closest airport to Auron is either Nice or Turin, with transfer times of between one and two hours. Grenoble is also an option but transfer time can be over three hours during peak travel time. With no direct rail link it is not easy to use public transport to reach Auron without a number of changes. This leads to extended journey times. We strongly recommend that you book airport transfers for the most direct form of travel to and from the resort.
If you are considering using public transport to reach Auron there are several options. You should bear in mind that there are no rail links to the resort, so if you use the train you will have to change at some point.
There is a direct bus from Nice to Auron. The journey takes about two and a half hours. There are no direct transportation links if you travel from Turin or Grenoble and if you choose to travel by public transport it can take you whole day to get to the resort.
We strongly advise that you use airport transfers. By booking a transfer you will benefit from a direct journey to Auron. You also have the convenience and safety of a regular shuttle or transfer service. This is by far the quickest and most cost-effective way of getting from the airport to the resort, and also the most comfortable and safe.
