    Some Facts about Baqueira-Beret

    Baqueira-Beret ski resort located in the heart of the Pyrenees, in the Aran Valley and Àneu Valley Lleida, Spain. It is the largest and most visited winter resort in Spain, with 146 kilometers of marked pistes, 7 kilometers  of marked off-piste, and 7 kilometers of cross-country ski and 2,166 hectares of ski area. It is located in the highest part of the Aran Valley (Naut Arán), and Pallars Sobirá (Valls d'Aneu). It has long and wide ski runs, some through trees. It is divided into three different zones, Baqueira, Beret and Bonaigua. Due to its westerly aspect and position on the northern side of the Pyrenees, and consequent Atlantic climate, the resort of Baqueira-Beret has a good snow record throughout the winter. In addition, there is more than 1,000 meters (3,300 ft) of vertical drop and an extensive skiable zone. Much of the region of the Aran Valley and Àneu Valley is made up of over 50 small rural populations, each one with stone and wood houses and ancient Romanesque churches. The resort was founded 60 years ago on the initiative of the local authorities in the Aran Valley.

    There are two Airports within two hours’ drive, so ski weekends, snowboard breaks and short ski holidays to Baqueira-Beret are perfectly feasible.

    Is there public transport to Baqueira-Beret?

    Several bus changes will be necessary if you are coming from Lleida-Alguaire or Barcelona airports. The journey from both airports will take over five hours due to long waiting times between the buses.

    Coming from other airports from French side can be tricky, expensive and time consuming as there are no public transportation links to Baqueira-Beret.

    Advice on Transportation to Baqueira-Beret

    While many people do use the public transport listed above they can sometimes be time consuming. You are much better off booking an airport transfer from the airport where you land especially if you are travelling as a group. You will benefit from a shorter journey time and a direct route.
