Ceillac is a commune in the Hautes-Alpes department in southeastern France. It is a charming little mountain village, located in the Regional Natural Park of Queyras. It has around 300 inhabitants who are very warm and welcoming. The landscape is varied with large forests, four mountain lakes, the sunny mountain pastures proud peaks. The fauna and flora are protected and exceptional. The road to Ceillac begins in the Combe de Queyras, 5 km northeast of Guillestre. From the Combe de Queyras, the D60 road goes 8 km up the narrow valley, very twisty and with some true hairpins. It's wide and well-surfaced, though, and the valley with the mountain river alongside, rushing down over the rocks, is beautiful.
The village is large enough for a good touristic walk-around, and there are many interesting sights. Signs of a true farming village were trails of hay and farm smells from wide doors in many of the village buildings. Shops range from some serious wood sculpturing to hiking outfitters, with cafés and restaurants included. There is an extensive lending library with many nature books available at the tourist office. Across the fields north of the village center is an area of mountain-style villas and vacation chalets. The neighboring hamlet of Sainte Cécile, with the picturesque high-steepled Sainte-Cécile church visible from the edge of the village.

There are buses which ply to Ceillac from all major airports. However, if you are looking at using public transport be aware that there will be necessary changes and it is time consuming. For example if coming from Grenoble or Nice it will take from five to eight hours to get to Ceillac.
Train options from the nearest airports are not available for this particular resort.
Public transport links to Ceillac are time consuming. You are much better off booking an airport transfer from the airport where you land. You will benefit from a shorter journey time and a direct route. You also get the added bonus of travelling in comfort, and of a guaranteed journey that is pre-booked. Airport transfers are also the most cost-effective method of getting to this mountain resort.
