Champagny en Vanoise has been steadily growing into a hugely popular resort for international tourists, ever since it was linked with La Plagne over 30 years ago. As of today, the skiing opportunities in and around Champagny en Vanoise are some of the best to be found anywhere across the Alps and while the majority are suited more to beginners and intermediates, the black runs are simply exceptional. You’ll find a huge 212km of marked ski runs, which of course doesn’t factor in the amazing off-piste opportunities and cross-country trails. The resort also has a history and culture all of its own, so if you find yourself in town be sure to sign up for a tour of the local area including the gorgeous church and working farm.
If you can head into town via Chambery Airport, you can get yourself from the tarmac to the powder in no more than one and a half hour if weather and traffic permitting, of course.
