    Some Facts about Col de l'Arzelier

    Situated at an altitude 1154 m in the town of Château-Bernard in the Regional Natural Park of Vercors region and at a distance of 70 km from Grenoble. Col de l’Arzelier is family oriented ski resort resort . The lift served area extends from 1125 meters to 1600 meters. There are 9 km of lift served runs with one chair lift and four drags. There are 35 km of cross country trails too. The downhill area has 2 green pistes, 3 blues a red and a black. Night skiing is offered only on certain days of the week. The area is also popular for its walks and snow shoeing.This place makes itself a departure point for many walks in the mountains especially the eastern Vercors balcony with an impressive view of the massive environments: Chartreuse, Belledone Oisans and even Mont Blanc.

    From which airport can I reach Col de l'Arzelier?

    There is one Airport within an hours’ drive, so ski weekends, snowboard breaks and short ski holidays to this resort are possible for those flying via Grenoble. Geneva Airport and Sion Airport also connect with the resort. The following three airports link Col de l’Arzelier and all of them provide airport transfers to the ski resort:

    • Grenoble - 75 km
    • Chambéry - 92km
    • Lyon - 136km
    • Geneva - 180 km
    • Sion - 333 km

    Is there a public transport to Col de l'Arzelier?

    There are buses which ply to the resort from all major airports. However, if you are looking at using public transport be aware that there will be necessary changes. Train options from the airports listed above are not available. Bellow you can find some public transportation options:

    • From Grenoble city center take a bus to Le Gua, Les Saillants, then change to the bus to Col de l'Arzelier. The journey takes about two hours.
    • It requires many changes if you are coming from Geneva and the journey may take up to five hours.
    • Like from Geneva, there will be many changes necessary if coming from Lyon or Chambéry. The journey may take up to four hours.

    Advice on Transportation to Col de l'Arzelier

    While many people do use the above public transport links they are time consuming. You are much better off booking an airport transfer from the airport where you land. You will benefit from a shorter journey time and a direct route. You also get the added bonus of travelling in comfort, and of a guaranteed journey that is pre-booked. Airport transfers are also the most cost-effective method of getting to this mountain resort.
