    Col de Rousset is a medium sized ski resort situated in France with 9 ski lifts (1 chair lift, 8 surface lifts) that offers skiers a respectable 445 meters of vertical descent. Col de Rousset has 25 pistes and is best suited to beginner skiers and snowboarders but there is some terrain for both expert and intermediates too. There are 35 kilometers of cross country ski trails at this resort. Some other ski resorts are very close to Col de Rousset including Gresse en Vercors, Correncon en Vercors, Villard-de-Lans, Rencurel and Méaudre. There is a ski school for beginners. In bars and restaurants you will find entertainment when you are off of the hill.

    From which airport can I reach Col de Rousset?

    There are airports within one hour’s drive so ski weekends and snowboard breaks  to Col de Rousset are possible. Col de Rousset is served primarily Grenoble and Chambery airports which are both around 70km from the resort. The following airports link Col de Rousset and all of them provide airport transfers to the ski resort:

    • Grenoble - 73 km
    • Chambery - 70 km
    • Lyon St-Exupéry  - 120 km
    • Geneva - 231km

    Is there public transport to Col de Rousset?

    Getting to Col de Rousset is tricky as there are no public transportation to this resort. However, if you are looking at using public transport be aware that there will be necessary changes. Here are some public transport options:

    • From Grenoble Airport take a bus to the City center, then change to the train to Clelles Mens or bus to Saint-Michel-les-Portes. There you will have to catch a taxi that will take you to Col de Rousset (87km). The journey takes about four hours.
    • If coming from Chambery you will have to take the train to Grenoble. It takes about four and a half hours to get to Col de Rousset.
    • From Lyon take the train to Die via Valence Ville, then chage to taxi (23km). It may take up to three hours to get to Col de Rousset.
    • From Geneva  you have to take the train or bus via Grenoble. The journey may take up to five and a half hours.

    Advice on Transportation to Col de Rousset

    Going to Col de Rousset by public transportation is consuming and expensive. You are much better off booking an airport transfer from the airport where you land. You will benefit from a shorter journey time and a direct route. You also get the added bonus of travelling in comfort, and of a guaranteed journey that is pre-booked. Airport transfers are also the most cost-effective method of getting to this mountain resort.
