Crans Montana started life as two separate villages, unsurprisingly called Crans and Montana. They joined forces back in the 60s and today represent one of the most popular and desirable ski resorts in the whole of the area. Small in nature, the resort offers access to some of the best ski runs to be found anywhere in the Alps and is fast becoming a tourist hotspot with every passing year. A full 160km of marked runs can be found across the area with a pretty even spread between beginner, intermediate and expert runs. 24 ski lifts keep the action going, runs above the 2,500m mark guarantee season-round snow and the après-ski has a reputation for being some of the best the Swiss Alps have to offer. And just to top it all off, the resort is blessed with some of the most stunning panoramas of the Alps.
Sion Airport is located no more than a 45-minute drive from the center of the resort, so if you can time it right with both the weather and local traffic, getting in and out of Crans Montana even just for a one-night stay is very possible. If time is on your side, a list of airports are no more than about three hours away from the place, so it’s usually easy to find yourself excellent deals with budget airlines.
All of the airport transfer times we offer are to be used as guidelines only and take into account light traffic on days when the weather is fair. Should the elements not work in your favor or peak season traffic makes an appearance, the following times can change quite dramatically and without notice:
While many people do use the above public transport links they may be time consuming due to many changes. You are much better off booking an airport transfer from the airport where you land. You will benefit from a shorter journey time and a direct route. You also get the added bonus of travelling in comfort, and of a guaranteed journey that is pre-booked. Airport transfers are also the most cost-effective method of getting to this mountain resort.
