The village of Crest-Voland occupies a middle position on the south side of the middle valley of the Arly at about 1230 m altitude. Its administrative limits go from the course of the river to the ends Saisies; they are detached from Cohennoz, Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombe Hauteluce. In addition to the town center, the village consists of many hamlets (The Crest, the Tovat the Zet, Paravy the Molliettes the Passage, the Reys and many more). The territory of the municipality is mostly wooded, non-forestry land being occupied by alpine lawns.
This resort is part of the Espace Diamant ski area with access to 185km of downhill skiing, with 226 individual pistes. In addition to the skiing in Crest Voland Cohennoz itself (90km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Espace Diamant ski resorts of Flumet, Les Saisies, Notre Dame de Bellecombe and Praz sur Arly. The ski resort itself is above 1500m, so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible.
There are six airports within two hours’ drive, so ski weekends, snowboard breaks and short ski holidays to Crest Voland Cohennoz are possible. Chambery and Geneva Airports is just one hour’s drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly. There are buses which ply to the resort from Geneva and other airports listed above too. However, if you are looking at using public transport be aware that there will be necessary changes. Even from very close airports the journey by public transportation may take up to five hours. Close by train options are not available.
