Dorfgastein is a municipality in the St. Johann im Pongau district in the state of Salzburg in western central Austria. It is located at the entrance (north) of the Gastein Valley. There are buses which ply to the resort from Salzburg and other airports listed above. However, if you are looking at using public transport be aware that there will be necessary changes. Train options from Salzburg airport is available too and trains ply between the airport and the resort from Mon-Sun and leave after every 2 hours. The journey time is 2 and half hours.
