Filzmoos Ski Amade is a tiny little resort in the heart of the Austrian Alps that feels a million miles from the overcrowded and noisy hotspots most frequent each year. With just 12km of beginner and intermediate slopes in the village itself, it’s the perfect place for newcomers, families and generally anyone looking for maximum relaxation and skiing at a much slower pace. That being said, Filzmoos is also linked to one of Austria’s biggest and most popular ski areas Ski Amade of all so all skill levels will be catered to in spades – a full 144 runs are right on your doorstep!
Realistically speaking, Filzmoos Ski Amade isn’t the best choice for a quick getaway or ski weekend due to its remote location – unless you can head in through Salzburg which is an hour away. All this gorgeous solitude means that the next nearest airport at Klagenfurt is nearly two hours away, so unless the weather and traffic conditions are both ideal, longer stays are recommended. If looking to stay for five days or over, over half a dozen airports offer fast and affordable transfer services that take in the region of three hours or less.
It’s always important to add extra time onto your expected transfer time as there’s always a strong chance the weather or traffic could take a turn. Here are the distance between airports and Filzmoos Ski Amade:
The public transportation options are limited to this resort. It requires many changes and takes a long time to get to Filzmoos Ski Amade. Even from relatively close Salzburg Airport the journey takes about three hours if travelling by public transport.
You can try your luck with public transport into and out of the resort, but you’ll save yourself a huge amount of time, money and stress by booking yourself a ski airport transfer service that takes you and your party door to door.
