    Some Facts about La Plagne

    La Plagne is one of the two resorts that make up the Paradiski ski resort. It is located in the splendour of the French Alps. Offering over 100 runs and 200km of pistes, Paradiski is one of the biggest ski areas in Europe. La Plagne consists of a number of villages at different altitudes in the mountains. Skiing is suitable for many different levels of experience, and there is plenty of opportunity for off-piste exploration with local guides available. There is plenty of accommodation in the resorts that will suit any budget, and there are many places to eat and enjoy après-ski entertainment and drinks.

    From which airport can I reach La Plagne?

    The closest airport to La Plagne is either Chambery or Lyon, with the former being within 1.5 hours of the resort. Both Grenoble and Geneva are also options but transfer time can be over three hours during peak travel time. Some visitors use cheap flight options to Milan Malpensa airport in Italy, but this is only a viable option if you are getting a very cheap seat and are willing to travel for several hours. Also, if you fly into one of the Italian airports you will have to travel through the Mt Blanc tunnel to get to La Plagne as all the mountain roads and passes are closed during the winter. We recommend that you book an airport transfer from your relevant airport. Some people also consider the option of hiring a car. There are facilities at all the airports.

    If you are looking at travelling by public transport there are some options. It is worth noting that as La Plagne has no direct rail connection journey times can be extensive.
