The upper part of the valley of Marebbe, which takes the name of Val di Rudo, is crossed by a comfortable paved road of about 12 km, originally a military road, which leads to the large square where stands the Pederù refuge (1540 m asl) . From here two dirt roads (the transit is allowed only to authorized off-road vehicles) date back to the steep sides of the valley and reach the shelter of the highlands of Fanes (2,060 m asl) and Senes (2126 m asl), in the heart of the natural park Fanes, Senes, Braies (each route takes about two hours walk from the refuge Pederù). Other trails lead to the peaks of the mountains that surround the valley of S. Vigilio; You can also get in about six hours of walking, Lake Braies through Fojedöra Val and Val Forest. There are also numerous hiking opportunities for mountain bikers.
The more challenging climbing routes, such as the so-called "Way of Peace", a long trail (about six hours walk and about 1000 m altitude) with some stretches of railway that starting from Alpe di Fanes Grande and following the open paths from the Austro-Hungarian soldiers during the First world War can be reached by one of the peaks of the Red Furcia.
