    Airport transfers to St-Luc and Chandolin

    This page will tell you all you need to know about transfers to St-Luc and Chandolin Ski Resort in Sierre-Anniviers, Swiss Alps with altitudes ranging from 1650m to 3000m above sea level. This resort is part of the Sierre-Anniviers ski area with access to 80 individual pistes. In addition to the skiing in St-Luc itself (7 ski lifts), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Sierre-Anniviers ski resorts of Chandolin, Grimentz, Vercorin and Zinal.

    The ski resort itself is above 1500m, so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With pistes above 2500 metres, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.

    Some Facts about St-Luc and Chandolin

    St-Luc and Chandolin are situated on the sunny eastern slope of the Val d'Anniviers (Eifischtal) and enjoy a majestic panorama. Spectacular scenery, attractive walking country and the ultra-modern astronomical observatory will keep boredom at bay.

    Amidst native pine and larch woods, Chandolin nestles securely on the sunny side of the Val d'Anniviers and has retained all its authentic charm. This ancient village with its typical timber houses and situated at an altitude of 1936 m is among the highest, continuously inhabited settlements in Europe. The neighbouring village of St.Luc still reflects all the past splendour of the Belle Époque in the Val d’Anniviers. The simple guesthouse, built in 1859 on the northern edge of the village of St. Luc, quickly developed into the Grand Hotel Bella Tola & St-Luc and, in 2001, it was voted the Historical Hotel of the Year and received the label "Romantik Hotel".

    The sunny ski region of St. Luc and Chandolin, with its splendid views, is the biggest in the Val d'Anniviers with a 60-km network of pistes is accessible by chairlifts, rack railway and 10 ski lifts.

    From which airport can I reach St-Luc and Chandolin

    There is an airport within two hours drive, so ski weekends, snowboard breaks and short ski holidays to Chandolin are perfectly feasible. Sion Airport is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.

    Is there public transport to St-Luc and Chandolin

    There are buses which ply to the resort from the airport listed above. Train options to this resort are available from Sion airport with trains running Mon-Sat: 7 AM–4 PM · every 2 hour and the journey time to the resort is 3 hours and 26 minutes. Trains also run from Berne airport Mon-Sun: 12 AM–3 PM, 10:30 PM–12 AM · every 2 hoursand the journey time is 5 hours and 18 minutes. From Geneva too trains run Mon-Sun: 7:30 AM–3 PM · every 2 hours and the travel time is 4 hours and 44 minutes. Trains from other airports may take a longer time to reach the resort.

    Advice on Transportation to St-Luc and Chandolin

    While many people do use the public transport listed above they can sometimes be time consuming like some train journeys from airports not listed above may take up a long time to reach the resort. You are much better off booking an airport transfer from the airport where you land especially if you are travelling as a group. You will benefit from a shorter journey time and a direct route. You also get the added bonus of travelling in comfort, and of a guaranteed journey that is pre-booked.
