Ventron is a little village in the Vosges, with 958 inhabitants, the "veternats". The name Ventron comes from the germanic word "winter".The vilage is well known for the little chapel of the "Ermitage Frere Joseph" . This monument was built iin 1757 by the villagers to honour Pierre Joseph Formet, who lived a retired life in the forest after being chased from his region of birth.
