Villabassa is a very popular ski resort in Northern Italy, close to the German border. It is one of the most popular ski resorts in the country and offers some wonderful skiing. The town of Villabassa has many hotels and guest houses, and is home to a number of noted restaurants and bars that cater for winter sports fans. There are some beautiful views to be had from all directions, and the après ski scene is quite lively. A relaxed and friendly place, Villabassa is an old-style ski resort with many charming features.
The most convenient airport to reach Villabassa is Verona or Venice, both a one to two hour transfer to Villabassa. Munich, Innsbruck, Bergamo, Brescia, Treviso and Milan are also options for Villabassa but transfer time can be well over three hours during peak travel time such as Saturday and Sunday. Please note if you fly into Innsbruck or Munich airport you will have to travel via Brenner Pass which might increase you transfer fees. From Venezia Santa Lucia (main stops: Mestre, Treviso, Ponte nelle Alpi) the train arrives at Calalzo-Pieve di Cadore or Padova with Calalzo - via Castelfranco, Belluno. There are bus connections between the Venice airport and Mestre railway station. ACTV n. 15 bus gets you to the station in 20 minutes, without stops. You can reach Villabassa via the Austria and Bruneck train line.
